| The 1720 Sportsboat Class Association has been in
existence since 27 August 1998. The objects of the Class are to
provide a medium of exchange of information among 1720 sailors
throughout the world and to promote and develop 1720 Class racing in

The Class Association has a structure comprising a World Council, which is effectively the committee which administers the class, and a number of districts organised primarily on a geographical basis, and fleets to represent the boat owners.
